Jazz Fusion Progressive Guitar Improvisation
Jazz Fusion Progressive Guitar Improvisation
CODE 3
Guitar-Bass-Drums trio. We were together from 1996 to 2006. It became second nature for me to freely create
with these guys. The band featured Doug Shreeve on bass
and Eric Wells on drums. Eric has relocated to North Carolina and he’s irreplacable in this trio, so you could say we are on a kind of permanent hiatus at this point, but we had a great run for 10 years and put out two albums that I’m very proud of.
Incredible singer, fantastic improviser, superb all-around musician, and most importantly, just a wonderful person and great friend.
PAUL TAVENNER: drummer, producer, engineer. A super talented cat who I’ve known forever. Good things always come about when we do a project together.
The brainchild of film composer Kevin Saunders Hayes, this is a massive multi-media extravaganza that features silent film with live music accompaniment. Too many people involved to list here, but just know that it ROCKS!
GREG BACK: one of my best friends and also an incredibly talented guitar builder. I play a custom Greg Back guitar, and Greg does the repair and set-up work on all of my other axes as well. He is the co-creator of the Buzz Feiten Tuning System. I have it on most of my guitars and it has really made a difference for me. I include Greg in this list because he is such a big part of making it possible for me to get the sound and feel that i want out of my guitars.

SOME FRIENDS THAT I MAKE MUSIC WITH
I get to play gigs with this great band fairly often. Incredibly wild, crazy, and fun music written and arranged by the great Elvis Schoenberg (aka Ross Wright). Imagine Zappa meets Led Zepplin meets Stravinsky meets Spike Jones meets.....
I love being in this progressive jazz group with Andy Suzuki (woodwinds and keyboards), Steve Billman (bass), Ralph Humphrey (drums), and Billy Hulting (percussion)
